Our Workshop

At AdiOre we combine all different aspects of Jewelry and Lapidary work all under one roof in our workshop to create truly unique, handcrafted jewels. Over the years our craftsmen have mastered some of the most complicated skills, combining traditional techniques like oil soldering and hand hammered gem setting with innovative techniques such as cutting edge plaiting, vermal coating and metal electro (nano) forming.

 

Join us below as we take you through a step-by-step guide of how our creation process comes to life inside our workshops. All of our jewels are handcrafted on site at our head office in Trat province, Eastern Thailand.

• Design Room: Our design department is made up of a group of highly skilled individuals from a variety of different nationalities. Our chief designers are Italian, Israeli and Swiss and they work and combine their expertise with our in house and freelance Thai designers. Our master design work is either done directly by hand curving with green wax, or created through CAD computer generated software which is then used to print a wax master template. We then apply different design tweaks to evolve each piece depending on the style required.

  

• Rubber Mold Pressing: After we have produced the master wax designs, many of our pieces require a mold press to be created to allow for re-production. At our mold making workshop our master craftsmen press a rubber mold that is then stored in our special mold warehouse at a cool temperature.

   

• Wax injection and casting tree preparation work shop: At this workshop we create and inject wax patterns out of the rubber molds. These are then used to create casting trees in preparation for the metal casting process.

    

• Casting: This open air workshop is at the heart of our grounds to allow a good flow of natural air which is important for a good casting result. Our casting is done via a traditional and super-efficient loss wax centrifugal machine.

  

• Silver/ gold workshop : At this workshop our craftsman clean the sprawl of the casting tree, then clean and grind the rough metal surface. They then soldier together all of the different pieces of each item like earnings posts. Finally we then brand each item with the trademark, metal quality and standard.  

    

• Gem Setting: This workshop is where our most skilled craftsmen work. All of our gems and semi-precious stones are set using a traditional hammer setting technique which we use for all raw materials from diamonds to rough and natural free form stones. All are meticulously set into the metal using only a hammer and special engraving tools. The expertise of our craftsmen means that we hardly ever have to use glue or epoxy when setting our gemstones.

     

• Lapidary Workshop: We love sustainably sourced stones and natural materials more than anything. At our lapidary workshop we use the rough material that we have sourced from all over the world and slowly start cutting, shaping and polishing them to create our jewels. During the years we have cut and faceted many different semi-precious stones and gems. Currently we are focused mostly on using opals, larimar, MOP and more.

     

• Polishing Room: Near the end of our creation process, our jewels are sent to our polishing room where our master polisher will go throw a few final stages. All of our jewels are polished either mechanically using sonic tumblers or manually using different graded polish cloths. At the end of this process the pieces are then submerged into an ultrasonic bath to be cleaned from any polish soup marks.

     

• Plating: At the final stage of the jewel creation is the plating process. At our workshop we mastered all metal coating processes and are able to offer our customers a wide range of vermeil material including Rhodium, grey and black Ruthenium, 22 carat gold, pink gold and more.
  • We also coat all our silver pieces with a protective layer of Nano plastic particles to protect the metal from tarnishing. All our plating are Micron plating with 2 micron and up according to our customers’ requirements. All of our plating comes with a lifetime guarantee.

  

• Electro (Nano) Forming workshop: Our most recently created workshop which is still in it’s mastering stage, we have fallen in love with the amazing possibilities of the electro (nano) forming method. The method uses electrical currents and chemical solutions to form metal with our stones and wax models. Our new Electro Forming Catalogue designs are coming soon.

         

• Quality Control and Office : Last but not least yet the most important for our production is our quality control. All of our pieces are meticulously checked to ensure the highest possible standard prior to being approved and photographed, packaged and eventually shipping.
